Patient at AktivOrtho

´I personally feel quality and care at AktivOrtho™ are par excellence. From my first consultation with Dr.Gerd Mueller (MD) and the quick diagnosis, to the way the treatment was prescribed and executed, I knew and could feel I was in great hands´

“In November 2013, I visited AktivOrtho™ to consult Dr.Gerd Mueller (MD) for my ankle injury. As my husband was being treated at the same centre and had achieved fantastic results, it was a natural choice for me. This was the first time I had been anywhere for a prolonged treatment. During my rehabilitation at AktivOrtho™, I discovered a list of related problems like improper balance and low stamina. My physiotherapist, Mr. Akshay Arora worked all of this into my program. This is something that I might never have specifically worked on simply as I was not aware of these problems. Since dancing is a big part of my work, AktivOrtho’s rehabilitation program has worked really well for me.

I personally feel quality and care at AktivOrtho™ are par excellence. From my first consultation with Dr. Mueller and the quick diagnosis, to the way the treatment was prescribed and executed, I knew and could feel I was in great hands. What's really amazing is that my levels of energy are now much higher, thanks to my physiotherapist for constantly edging me on to do that little extra! Since I am a dancer, aches and pains are a regular part of my life but due to Dr. Akshay, who goes to the root of a problem, it immediately gets treated. So, it's not just one particular problem that I'm being treated for now, it's more a complete workout which combines strength, flexibility and stamina and it's doing me a world of good.

I'm generally feeling healthier, having also lost my extra weight that I put on due to lack of movement with my injured ankle. It's hard for me to describe in words my experience with AktivOrtho™; it's like I have a new lease of life and I'm a complete addict to the Aktiv way!”

Comments by Physiotherapist Mr. Akshay Arora

“Ms.Sodhi’s main complaints were severe pain and restriction in her ankle. She was diagnosed with recurrent ankle sprains.

The initial assessment was performed and we found that her ankle joint was very tender and hypo-mobile. There were multiple myofascial trigger points in her calves.

Comprehensive treatment started based on the first examination and assessment. The initial phase of the treatment was based on manual therapy sessions comprising Kinesio taping for the sprained ligament followed by myofascial release of the calf muscles, mobilisation of ankle joint with stretches for releasing the tightness from the calves.

Ms.Sodhi responded to manual therapy sessions very well and 75 per cent of her ankle pain vanished after the first four sessions. She was completely pain-free after four weeks and was then transferred to the second phase of Aktiv Training.

Aktiv Training was continued for her strength, flexibility and stamina. This phase of rehabilitation was more focussed on strengthening her core musculature and incorporates functional movements for the whole body. After three months of rehabilitation program, she is now working on an advanced level of strength regime”.
