Testimonials - Parkinsons Disease

Dr. Sudha Verma
Patient at AktivOrtho

´At AktivOrtho, the quality of treatment administered is unique and what stood out was the personal touch of my physiotherapist Ms. Pooja Bajaj.´ I wish the centre all the good luck and am sure that they shall continue the good work.

I learnt about AktivOrtho from my nephew and came to the centre in March 2015 for the treatment of Parkinsons disease. Earlier, I had undergone treatment in the National Neurology Institute at Singapore but not being a permanent resident of Singapore, am not entitled for the rehabilitation programme. At AktivOrtho, the quality of treatment administered is unique and what stood out was the personal touch of my physiotherapist Ms. Pooja Bajaj. I really felt cared for. The approach to treatment has been very scientific as well as progressive. The efforts put in by Dr. Mueller and the pains taken by his team is well manifested in the professionalism exhibited by one and all. I do experience a great deal of improvement. The staff members are very polite, helpful and want to take care of a patient. I wish the centre all the good luck and am sure that they shall continue the good work.

Comments by Physiotherapist Ms. Pooja Bajaj

The patient came to me with a diagnosis of Parkinsons’s disease with associated dyskinesias which was affecting her day to day life in terms of her daily routine activities, slowness and inability to write. The detailed neurological evaluation revealed generalized deconditioning with weak core, risk of fall, inability to grip footwear and poor bed mobility. After a detailed assessment, the treatment commenced which was graduated to strength endurance training for the whole body. Thereafter, functional training started and the strength in the body was regained. The patient improved in terms of her bed mobility, better balance, ability to do routine tasks with greater speed, walking without dragging her feet, able to write and no slipping of footwear from her feet. Overall, a great degree of improvement was visible.

Dr. Sudha Verma has been advised to resume her exercises at the centre once back from holidays. She has also been instructed certain exercises which could be done at home entirely by herself helping her maintain the fitness level achieved
